Capital Facilities Industry XML (cfiXML) is a term used to describe a set of collaborating organizations and workgroups who are developing and supporting software tools, test suites and XML schemas to automate information exchange among various software systems.  cfiXML supports automation of the engineering, procurement, construction, and operations and maintenance work processes associated with capital facilities.

This web site is a shared resource for multiple working groups to publish open source software and testing tools, examples, XML schemas and associated documentation.  This web site also provides the gateway to an open source software testing and development environment for software developers and implementers through the SourceForge - cfidev project development area.

XML Schema coordination and compatibility is achieved through a set of reusable core schema components which provide common features and support the related individual subject domain schemas. All schemas are available free to download. Feedback and suggestions are important to the continued development and acceptance of the schemas in industry.
