About cfiXML

This web site resource was established by cfiXML sponsors to foster widespread, practical, cost-effective use of  XML in the capital facilities industry.  The capital facilities industries include a very broad constituency, including industrial, commercial and institutional facilities, buildings and infrastructure. cfiXML is run on a volunteer basis, under the supervision of the sponsoring organizations.

The sponsors intend that this cfiXML web site resource be used by any number of industry organizations that are actively collaborating on XML Schema development and deployment.  These organizations include FIATECH, Alar Engineering Software, DIPPR, HI, TRC, PIP, API, ASHRAE, aecXML and others .

The goal of this web site is to act as a public domain source of open source software tools, test environments, and XML schemas being developed and used by the cfiXML user community.

Anyone may actively participate in and submit software tools or schemas to cfiXML working groups, provided they use the W3C XML Schema standards, the cfiXML procedures and use principles described in the "XML Schema Development Guidelines."

The schemas and documentation published on this site are provided without warranties "as is" under open source licenses with minimal support.
