FIATECH -
AEX Project
FIATECH (Fully Integrated and Automated TECHnology) is an industry-led, collaborative,
not-for-profit research consortium
serving the construction industry, from asset creation through operation and maintenance.
It currently has 42 member
organizations representing owners, engineering procurement and
construction contractors, technology suppliers, equipment suppliers,
universities and research organizations.
The Automating Equipment information eXchange (AEX)
project, which initiated in 2002, produces XML schemas to support the equipment
design, procurement, delivery, operation and maintenance life cycle.
DIPPR
991 Project (ppdXML)
DIPPRŪ (the Design Institute for Physical Property Data) is a joint
industry sponsored research effort, organized under the American Institute of
Chemical Engineers (AIChE). DIPPR provides high
quality material physical property data to satisfy the needs of its 23 sponsoring
organizations. These organizations represent chemical, petroleum,
biochemical, pharmaceutical, and allied industries environmental companies;
engineering contractors, consultants, and specialty firms; government agencies;
academic institutions; and consortia.
Effective liaison is maintained with other organizations involved in producing data
and making data useful.
The DIPPR 991 project was initiated in 1999 to develop a common industry
solution to electronic exchange of material physical property data from
multiple industry database and application software programs that are commonly
used in the industry.
ePlantData, Inc.
ePlantData connects software for the process industry.
ePlantData is a technical services company, formed in 2001 with a number of
process industry user and software provider clients interested in XML based
electronic data exchange for shell and tube exchangers. ePlantData
contributed the PlantDataXML schemas which it originally developed from
industry draft STEP standards as the starting basis for subsequent work with
the FIATECH
- AEX
Project for equipment and for the DIPPR
991 project for materials and physical properties. ePlantData has served
as lead technical investigator for both of these industry projects. The
result of these collaborations over the past 2 years is the initial set of
cfiXML schemas presented on this cfiXML web site.
